Care for pituitary conditions
The pituitary is the body's master gland, directing thyroid, adrenal, growth, and reproductive hormones. Pituitary conditions are complex — and exactly what fellowship-trained endocrinologists are equipped to manage.
Conditions we evaluate and treat
- Pituitary tumors (adenomas) — most are benign; we determine whether they secrete hormones and whether they need treatment or monitoring
- Prolactinoma — elevated prolactin causing irregular periods, milky discharge, or low testosterone; usually very treatable with medication
- Hypopituitarism — deficient pituitary hormones requiring careful, coordinated replacement
- Acromegaly — excess growth hormone in adults
- Diabetes insipidus (arginine vasopressin deficiency) — excessive thirst and urination from a water-balance hormone problem
- Incidental pituitary findings on MRI — workup and surveillance per current guidelines
Found something on an MRI?
Small pituitary lesions are found incidentally on up to 10% of brain MRIs. Most never cause trouble — but each deserves a one-time hormonal evaluation and a sensible monitoring plan. We provide both, and when surgery or specialized radiation is needed, we coordinate with experienced pituitary neurosurgeons in the region.
Ongoing partnership
Pituitary care is long-term care: hormone levels change, imaging needs periodic review, and replacement doses need fine-tuning through life stages. We provide the continuity that these conditions demand.
